E.L.T. 01/22/15 Warm Up: ”Worst Case Scenario” Worksheet (part 2 from yesterday) Work Session: Reality Central Book: Write the definitions from page 48. Read p. 48-51. Closing: Answer all of the questions on page 51 by using complete sentences and turn in your work today.

Language Arts – Warm Up 01/22/15 Sit in your Green Teams. Warm Up – Journal Respond to and explain the meaning of this quote from Chapter 10: “The Lord is rebuilding Jerusalem; He gathers in the scattered sons of Israel. It is He who heals the broken in spirit and binds up their wounds, He who numbers the stars one by one....” Think about the “funeral” they’re having, who they’re hiding/helping escape, who the Nazis are searching for, the roles of Peter, Mama, and Henrik, etc.

Language Arts – Work session 01/22/15 What Would You Bring? What would you do if you had to suddenly leave the country? What would you take with you? Remember, you can only take very small items that could be carried or easily hidden. On one side of your paper, you fill your “bag” with items to take as well as items you’d hate to leave. Under the bag, write a paragraph justifying or explaining why you’d bring these items. On the other side of the paper, choose a character from the novel and fill his or her “bag” with the items you think they would take and hate to leave. Then, write a paragraph explaining your choices.
