NRR Ad Hoc Committee In November 2008, the 802.16 Working Group has approved the creation of a WG Ad Hoc Committee with the objective of promoting discussion on robustness and reliability Committee reflector and document upload area http://dot16nrr-reflector.wirelessman.org http://dot16nrr.wirelessman.org Study the potential interest of the WG to launch a new standardization activity for a highly-reliable and highly-robust 802.16 system

Scope of the Committee The Committee has refined the scope after having defined the usage models and a first set of requirements Identified requirements of interest Enhanced relay operation: Level 1 Direct communication mode: Level 1 Priority bandwidth request: Level 1 Non-standard channel behaviors: Level 1 Enhanced security: Level 2 Dynamic reconfigurability: Level 2 Mobile BS: Level 2 Group management: Level 2

Progress made so far Activities The Committee is drafting a report NRR has been active at session #59 and session #60 Works have been carried out in-between sessions Regular conference calls Technical discussions on the reflector (54 members) The Committee is drafting a report Document 80216nrr-08_004r2 The usage model section is almost finished Work now shall be focused on the requirements and functions A call for contributions has been issued the 23/04/09
