Psalm 51:1-4

Matthew 26:26-29 [26] And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." [27] Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. [28] For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. [29] But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom."

"The author, Adelaide A. Pollard (1862-1934) was born in Iowa. "Have Thine Own Way, Lord" was composed during a time when Miss Pollard was trying to raise funds to make a trip to Africa. The hymn was inspired in 1902 by a simple prayer of an elderly woman at a prayer meeting: "It really doesn't matter what you do with us, Lord -- just have your way with our lives .

This morning we must realized who is in control of everything. “Have thine own way Lord”. Your are my God. You are my Creator. You are my Savior. You are my redeemer. You are my sustainer. You are my way, my truth and my life. You are my shield. You are my support. “Have thine own way Lord” Romans 8:31 NKJV[31] What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Jeremiah 18:1-6 NKJV[1] The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying: [2] "Arise and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause you to hear My words." [3] Then I went down to the potter's house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. [4] And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. [5] Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: [6] "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?" says the LORD. "Look, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!

LORD, MOLD ME! “Lord, I want to live within Thy will!” (Matt. 7:21; 1 John 2:17; Heb. 10:9; Eph. 5:17) Ephesians 5:17 NKJV[17] Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Hebrews 10:9 NKJV[9] then He said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first that He may establish the second. Matthew 7:21 NKJV[21] "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 1 John 2:17 NKJV[17] And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

LORD, MOLD ME! “Mold me & make me after Thy will, not mine!” (Rom. 13:14; John 5:30; 6:38) John 6:38 NKJV[38] For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. Romans 13:14 NKJV[14] But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. John 5:30 NKJV[30] I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

LORD, MOLD ME! “I yield! I submit! I wait!” (Jer. 18:1-4; Isa. 64:8; 40:31; Psa. 27:14; Jas. 4:7) James 4:7 NKJV[7] Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Psalm 27:14 NKJV[14] Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! Isaiah 64:8 NKJV[8] But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. Isaiah 40:31 NKJV[31] But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

LORD, FORGIVE ME! “Lord, I want to be in Thy presence!” (Psa. 27:4 vs. Isa. 59:2) Isaiah 59:2 NKJV[2] But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. Psalm 27:4 NKJV[4] One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.

LORD, FORGIVE ME! “Search me, try me, forgive me!” (Psa. 139:23-24; 51:1-19) Psalm 51:1-4 NKJV[1] Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. [2] Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. [3] For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. [4] Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight- That You may be found just when You speak, And blameless when You judge. LORD, FORGIVE ME! “I humbly bow in Thy presence!” (1 Pet. 5:6; Luke 18:13) Luke 18:13 NKJV[13] And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' 1 Peter 5:6 NKJV[6] Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

LORD, HELP ME! “Lord, I pray for Thy power!” (Psa. 62:11-12; 147:1-11) Psalm 147:3-6 NKJV[3] He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. [4] He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. [5] Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. [6] The LORD lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground. Psalm 62:11-12 NKJV[11] God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. [12] Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.

LORD, HELP ME! “Help me! Heal me! I’m spiritually weary!” (Psa. 46:1-3, 10-11; Heb. 13:6) Hebrews 13:6 NKJV[6] So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" Psalm 46:1-3 NKJV[1] God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. [2] Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; [3] Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah Psalm 46:10-11 NKJV[10] Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! [11] The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. LORD, HELP ME! “I trust! I need! I pray! I beg!” (Psa. 71:9-12; 18:1-2; 28:7; 2 Tim. 1:12) 2 Timothy 1:12 NKJV[12] For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. Psalm 28:7 NKJV[7] The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. Psalm 71:9-12 NKJV[9] Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails. [10] For my enemies speak against me; And those who lie in wait for my life take counsel together, [11] Saying, "God has forsaken him; Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him." [12] O God, do not be far from me; O my God, make haste to help me! Psalm 18:1-2 NKJV[1] I will love You, O LORD, my strength. [2] The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

LORD, USE ME! “Lord, I want to be Thy dwelling!” (1 Cor. 6:19-20; Rom. 8:9-11; Rev. 3:20; Jn. 14:23) Revelation 3:20 NKJV[20] Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. John 14:23 NKJV[23] Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. Romans 8:9-11 NKJV[9] But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. [10] And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. [11] But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV[19] Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? [20] For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

LORD, USE ME! “Take me! Live in me! Use me!” (Rom. 6:13; 12:1; Phil. 1:20) Philippians 1:20 NKJV[20] according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. Romans 6:13 NKJV[13] And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. Romans 12:1 NKJV[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

LORD, USE ME! “I want you! I want others to see you in me!” (Gal. 2:20; Matt. 5:16; Col. 3:16) Colossians 3:16 NKJV[16] Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Galatians 2:20 NKJV[20] I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Matthew 5:16 NKJV[16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
