4. I. Who Can Pray?
Whose prayer does God hear?
Only God’s children have the privilege or prayer
The privilege of prayer is for those in Christ

5. 1 Pet. 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

6. Js. 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

7. Does God hear the prayers of sinners?
Yes, He hears them but he does not answer them!

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous

10. Is. 59:1-2

13. Acts 11:13-14

Only God’s children have the privilege or prayer

1. Praise
Lk. 11:2
“And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.”

20. 2. Thanksgiving
1 Tim. 2:1
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men”

21. 3. Confession
Lk. 11:4
“And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.”

22. 1 Jn. 1:7-9
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

23. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
