SAUDI SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY FOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS (SSSEE) by Samir AL-Baiyat Chairman of the Steering Committee Presentation for the IEEE October Meeting October 6, 2003

Objectives Develop, promote and spread out scientific thinking in the fields of electrical engineering. Present members with opportunities for scientific exchange and participation in the various fields of development in the kingdom

Objectives To facilitate the exchange of scientific ideas among the scientific organizations & institutions within & outside the Kingdom. To offer advise and perform scientific studies in field of specialty to other entities

Objectives To develop professional & scientific performance and personal skills of its members To improve performance and promote the profession in entities related to electrical engineering.

Activities Encouragement of scientific studies and publications Organization of conferences, seminars, workshops and scientific exhibitions. To invite scholars & experts to participate in the activities organized by the society.

Activities To provide professional training services in the fields of electrical engineering. Publication of scientific journals, periodicals & newsletters. Organization of field trips & scientific &cultural contests in the related fields

Activities Cooperates & participates with the Saudi universities to realize their scientific and practical goals. Reinforces the relationship with business & Industrial entities .

The Board The society shall be managed by a nine members Board . One Third of the Board members shall be from the KFUPM The Board’s member term of office is for three years.

Resources & the Budget Registration & subscription fees. The sale of the publications & periodicals. The returns of training courses or programs. Donations, grants, fund raising.

An invitation for Membership One year membership will be free for members who apply before December 15, 2003. General Assembly is tentatively scheduled for December 31, 2003
