THE YOUTH AGENDA BY: MOSES OTIENO JAOKOO Education for Sustainable Development and Green Economy innovation

Problem Statement Poor land use planning Lack of a National Urban Development policy House hold food insecurity and Poor nutritional value for poor families and slum dwellers Declining agricultural land area whereas there is high population growth Declining forest cover thus increased impact of climate change at house hold level Poor Participation of youths in decision making involving Environmental conservation and management

Challenges to these problems Variance between the National Land Policy 2009 and the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Land and Environment Devolution of Government structures creating County government without a policy framework on urban Development Poor food storage facilities to cater for bumper harvest and low pricing of commodity crops thus making farming unattractive to youths.
