Identifying Your Skill Gaps Use the Gap Analysis to identify your skill gaps: After your self-assessment, click on the Gap Analysis tab or access the Gap Analysis from My Development in the CAT main menu. The Gap Analysis screen gives a linear graph representation of the assessments you have made without any text details. The same color convention is used with green, yellow, and red. The blue bar displays the Skill title. Gap Analysis Tab View Skill Description Move your cursor over the colored boxes to view the full Skill Description. Percent Complete Beneath each Skill Group title is a percentage and a green bar, indicating the total percentage you have completed of that whole Skill Group. Gap Analysis Status ‘Developed’ is the current status of your entire Position you have as complete. ‘High Importance Developed’ applies to “High Importance” Skill Descriptions only. Development Activities Move your cursor over a Development Activity code; the Activity name will appear. Click on the code to see course details. Note: Click on the DP icon to add the adjacent Development Activity to your Development Plan.

Identifying Your Skill Gaps Predict the effect on a Development Activity You can predict the effect a Development Activity will have on your skill gaps by checking the box next to the Activity code. The Skill Descriptions that would be covered by that Activity are outlined in blue. You can also do the reverse by clicking on any number of Skill Descriptions, which will be highlighted in red, and the associated Development Activities will be highlighted in blue.

Using the Activity Profile Use the Activity Profile to further analyze your skill gaps: After your Gap Analysis, click on the Activity Profile tab. The Activity Profile shows you what effect a Development Activity would have on your skills/competencies. The horizontal axis represents the number of Skill Descriptions related to the particular Activity.
