Technology Used Sibelius Garage Band Both examples of the use of the computer and educational software.

Example of useful website, Music Tech Teacher

A sample worksheet provided by the website musictechteacher.com

Process of Technology Integration Sibelius can be used to manually enter music compositions through the computer. Can be used for the entire band. ACE Program in connection with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra have sponsored.

Sibelius 16 measure compositions written by students with pen and paper first, to demonstrate their knowledge of basic theory. Use the keyboard and/or the mouse and create music.

Help from Mentors Ron Foster from the symphony helps with the theory students. Program is used by most professionals all over the world. Some students run into problems, relying on the computer rather than themselves for some solutions to problems; however, they must review their theory audibly.

Advantages If you run into problems, it may be due to the program recognizing flaws in music composition of the students, which reinforces their basic theory knowledge. A wonderful teaching tool, that stems from the students' own creativity.

Garage Band Garage Band can decipher the musical tone of the piece by entering the composition into the program and playing it back using a serious of tones and pitches to help distinguish various lines and melodies. Similar to a recording studio, with many different options for sounds, keys, tonal centers, and it will also help with time signatures. More portable, printing copies of music, creating a sense of ownership and confidence.

Disadvantages Will probably end the use of paper and pencil!?
