Amendments to the Law on State Statistics In January 2018, the SSO prepared the draft version of the amendments to the Law on State Statistics. The draft version was prepared in cooperation with authorised bodies and certain state bodies and public institutions.

Amendments to the Law on State Statistics (Regarding the Coordination Committee) The President and the members are representatives from the SSO and authorised bodies. The President and the members are appointed by the Government. The Director of the SSO is President, and members of the Committee are representatives of the authorised bodies who carry out statistical activities and manage statistical departments in those bodies. Administrative and technical support is provided by the SSO.

Amendments to the Law on State Statistics The Government has submitted the Law to the Assembly for final adoption and publication in the Official Gazette

Implementation of the Law After the adoption of the Law by the Assembly and its entry into force, the Government needs to establish the Coordination Committee. By the end of March next year, the SSO has to carry out an evaluation of the functioning of the Coordination Committee.
