Language Arts, Math, Science

Monday April 23 rd through Friday May 25 th Everyone needs to follow the provided schedule in order to ensure we get all of our outside sites and main site students tested in the window Teachers need to be flexible and helpful with make up work, as students will miss classes to be in the testing sessions

Horizonte main site Computer labs 420 and 511 will both be reserved in 2 hour blocks of time each day for CRT testing Additional 420d lab days are scheduled in for specific tests to accommodate all students

9:10-11:10 am is the morning session 12:30-2:20 pm is the afternoon session There will be a buffer time period for the hour following each session, for finishing up with students

Students will be given a ticket by the teacher/proctor Students will log in using their assigned password and start the test Students will complete all 3 Lang Arts sections of the test over 3 testing sessions scheduled Amy Cowin will open up test sections for studentsteachers/proctors do NOT have to do this

Students will be given a ticket by the teacher/proctor Students will log in using their assigned password and start the first section Students will complete both Math sections of the test over the 2 scheduled sessions Dan Coffin will open up test sections for studentsteachers/proctors do NOT have to do this

Individual teachers will proctor the science exams for their students Students are given a ticket to log in with Students need to complete both science sections of the test over the 2 scheduled sessions Individual teachers are responsible for logging in and opening the science sections for your students to take (training today at 3:30)

Students MUST complete the section of the test they are working on during that session Students CANNOT close out a test and reopen it the next session to finish a test section Do not allow students to start a new section of a test AFTER 10:30 am in the morning session or AFTER 1:40 pm in the afternoon session

You need to check off sections the student completes as they finish BEFORE they start into a new section (you will need to check the time to see if they can start a new section or need to wait until the next session) Require all students to raise their hands when they finish a section so you can come over and check them off, BEFORE they click the final submit for the section You need to verify theyve completed the full section (and not clicked through in a few minutes, marking random answers)

South City, Centro Civico, Odyssey, and Matheson 7.8 will be bused to Horizonte main site Please have your students ready at the pick up times and to load up at the drop off times, in order to quickly get transported to main site for your computer lab session times

Start now talking to your students about the upcoming exams and building their confidence Remind students that the Language Arts Classworks exams are exactly like the CRTsthey are already familiar with the style/format Talk to students about WHY standardized tests are important Shows their academic progress Allows teachers to see what elements students know and dont have to re-teach Allows them to demonstrate skills

Go over test taking skills with students: Always read the question through twice before you answer to ensure you understand what is asked Eliminate first the answers you know are not correct Look back over a passage/sentence/graphic to help determine the best answer Take your time---there is no need to rush through Students can skip a problem and come back to it they just scroll along the bottom (just ensure they have completed all problems before doing a final submit on that section)

If main site students have completed all of the open section of an exam for that session, and they have a regularly-scheduled class taking place, proctors/teachers can send the students with a note (with your initials and the time you sent them back) to return to their class Outside site students---teachers need to have an alternate assignment prepared that students can work on quietly until the end of that session and not disturb others

Students have to finish the test----they have to complete any open section of a test that day. We have scheduled extra time after sessions in order for students to stay and finish the tests (420 lab kids may need to be moved up to 511 but you can relog them in upstairs to finish) Send students late to 4 th or 7 th period with a note (your initial and time you sent them to class) to give to their teachers

What else do you need to know in order to carefully and accurately proctor the CRT exams?
