Expectations The children do not need to do all the activities if they don’t want to but will be encouraged. Behaviour in the rooms expected to be safe, sensible, respectful of others. Remind children that PGL are zero tolerance and any silly behaviour they will be removed from the activities. Expected to listen to adults, instructions and respond to requests. Respect that there are other schools and be respectful.

Activities Abseiling Giant Swing Zip Wire Raft Building Plus fencing, archery and orienteering

Format for the day: Wednesday – all arrive for start of the school day at 8.40 – normal drop off, we will be leaving at 10am if any parents want to come back and wave the children off. Leave at around 10.00 Arrive at around 12.00 Have lunch/meet leaders/go to rooms Start activities at 2.10pm Friday leaving after lunch at around 1pm to arrive back at school at around 3.10pm (traffic permitting)

Important things to remember: All children need their packed lunch separate from their luggage in a plastic bag so all rubbish can be binned. Only £5 spending money for the shop – 1 visit only. No mobile phones, valuables etc. Cameras are taken at your own risk. Bin liner for stinky pond gear – please label with a name tag. Anyone who suffers from travel sickness needs to bring appropriate medication for both the travel and return journey – put Friday’s meds in an envelope with their name on and time it needs to be given. Any inhalers need to be held by the child at all times during the trip. A spare can be given to group leader/Mrs Hickman (if necessary.)

Other information: Security all night, rooms are in lodges security coded, PGL staff patrol the areas as well as STM staff. Girls and boys in separate buildings. Emergency Direct Boreatton Park – 01939260551 – for use for absolute emergencies only Insurance PGL’s own and Local Authority

Medicines All medicine in a small plastic bag Make sure name is on the bottle – hand to Mrs Hickman on Wednesday before leaving. Please send a syringe or spoon to administer. Please add clear instructions for administering.

Kit list No bedding needed!! Shorts can be worn but have to be knee length. No open toe shoes otherwise will not be allowed to take part. Long sleeves needed for both archery and fencing. Torch for evening activities (leaders will have but could be useful) Kit list

Activities Old clothes/shoes, one for day, can have one for night, must have separate for wet activity (sometimes lose a shoe during rafting) Can bin whilst there Black bin liner with name on to carry pond clothes home. Shorts can be worn, must be knee length. No open toe shoes at all. Forearms need to be covered in long sleeves for both fencing and archery. Backpack needed, for dry clothes to change in to after raft building. Towels needed, one for showering, one for rafting.
