Will my child be safe? All activities have been risk assessed before the children start. A First Aid kit is with every activity and every member of PGL staff is First Aid trained. Children wear appropriate safety gear for activities, e.g. safety harnesses, helmets and life jackets in the water. A Night Manager is available throughout the night.

What if my child is ill? We will have your emergency contact details for your child. Children who require medication will be asked to bring it with them. Parents will be required to bring it to the designated teacher when arriving at school before departing for PGL. There is a 24 hour sick bay at the centre.

Estimated costs We have costed the visit at £195. This cost is dependent on the majority of Y5 children attending, so the final amount may change depending on the numbers Cost also includes coach travel and insurance Please note: Once you have sent in your deposit, you have committed to a place. You will be responsible for a proportion of the cost of the visit if your child is no longer attending. Any payments must be made by the instalment due date and are non-refundable

What if there is an emergency?
In the case of an emergency please contact the school office and they will be able to contact the party leader directly Contact details will be provided closer to the time

What next? Letters will be sent out tomorrow with your child to inform you of the payment schedule. This is to enable you to spread the cost of the trip throughout the months leading up to our visit. Deposit of £45 must be paid by Friday 6th November 2015. We need to know final numbers by this date so we can arrange appropriate staffing and so we can make arrangements with PGL. Records of payments will be kept on our computer systems. Bursary forms are available.

What next? Once all deposits have been received, ‘Form C’ permission forms will be sent home with your child. It is imperative that these are completed and handed in asap. They contain vital medical and contact information. Kit lists will be sent out nearer the time. Please feel free to ask any questions at the end, or feel free to pop in to see your child’s teacher.

Woodlands have chosen PGL for their KS2 residential visit for several years. We strongly recommend the visit, and believe that not only does it contribute greatly to your child’s personal, social and emotional development, and develop their independence, they also have a great time!
