2 Setting off Please bring your child to school at the usual time on Monday as we will set off at around 10: :30. Please bring your child’s bag round to the Art room at the start of the day. Your child will have to carry their bag to their dorm so consider size/weight! Medicine to the school office before Friday 23rd March please in a named envelope. 2 inhalers, one carried by your child if needed and a spare.

3 Travel Travel company is LA approved. Journey is about 50 minutes.
If children need travel sickness tablets, they will need to be brought in before Friday 23rd March in their original packaging.

4 Adults Mrs Stacey Mrs Neale Miss Jones Mr Cooper Miss Dwain
Mrs Packham Children will be in groups of 12 or 13 Each group has a member of school staff with them at all times.

5 Accomodation The children sleep in small dormitories in bunk beds.
We will try to make sure everyone is with a friend. Marlcliffe staff are in rooms on the same corridor so if the children get up at night there are adults available.

6 Safety Visit is approved by school Governors and Local Authority.
All staff are CRB checked and highly trained. Safety instructions are given for every activity and helmets, lifejackets worn when needed. Centre is secure with ID that all visitors have to wear. Buildings secure at night and staff on duty.

7 Emergencies Contact details are held by all adults on the visit.
School also has copies. The centre phone number is Please use in emergencies only not to check they are ‘ok!’

8 Food! Kingswood meals are very ‘child friendly’ and the children are asked what they would like. Different diets are catered for. Drinks are always available as are healthy snacks like fruit. Children will need to bring a drink and a packed lunch for the first day of the trip.

9 Activities There are 4 activities per full day as well as a night time activity. Climbing, kayak, bush craft, zip wire, laser, nightline. Children are encouraged to take part. Lots of opportunities for team building.

10 Rules We expect excellent behaviour at all times.
Children who do not follow instructions will be asked to sit out and watch the activity for safety reasons. No electrical items, mobile phones etc No aerosols as set off fire alarms

11 Clothing Please do NOT send new clothes!
Your child will get wet and muddy. Tracksuits are ideal, not jeans as they can rub when wet. Lots of layers and extra socks. Lip salve is good. Names in clothes please if want returned. Plastic bags for wet/muddy clothes will help.

12 Information for parents
We will be using a blog to update you over the course of the trip – details to follow. Children must not bring mobiles - there is poor reception at the centre anyway. If absolutely necessary we will arrange for your child to speak to you through the centre’s phone.

13 Return We will be leaving about 1:30pm Hope to return by about 2:30
The children should be collected from school at the normal time. Their cases will be returned to the art room.

14 The Blog This will be our main point of contact with parents and school. We will add photographs, updates and messages. Your child will only appear on the blog if you have given us photograph permission for the website – please ask if you wish to change this.
