Silkworm By Alamelu

Habitat Some silkworms live in Asia. Silkworms do not live in the wild.

Food Silkworms eat leaves. As caterpillar, silkworms eat nearly non-stop until they spin their cocoon.

Body Silkworms are 7.6 centimeters long. Adult silkworms have wings and hairy body.

Life Cycle Silk worms go through complete metamorphosis. Caterpillars or larvae hatch from eggs. Larvae becomes a pupa.

Fun Facts Adult silkworms only live for 5 days. They do not eat or drink. Silk thread may stretch 3,000 feet!
