Historical Registration According to Bruce W. Cunningham, Ph.D., the history of registration techniques has followed the history of computing very closely. Possibly the most critical business process of the registrars office Organizes, manages and implements the most basic function of higher education

Why Special Groups? Specialized scheduling needs – Time restrictions Athletes Groups involved in recognized activities with time restrictions – Special incentives/honor School of Honor students

Who is Special? SFA – Honors – Athletes (including cheer squads) – Veterans – Disability Services Clients

Policy or Procedure SFA and all respondents – Procedure

When Do They Register? SFA – First day of early registration with Graduate Students Other institutions – First two days of early registration – Scheduled throughout early registration along with the various classifications

Procedure for Ellucian Banner Time ticketing is used for setup – SFARCTT to set dates and priority times

Run a custom program to group students – Classification SGASTDN – Special group SGASPRT - Athletes SGASADD – Honors SGASTDN – Veterans Lists from cheer sponsors (entered manually) Individual requests from Disability Services (entered manually) Enter time ticket code in GTVSDAX – WEBRESTTKT = Y Limits registration to time ticket holders only Process runs twice daily to find newly admitted students with no time tickets and issue a ticket for them

Alternate Banner Procedure Use SFARGTC to set up early registration based on classification

SPAAPIN - Populate alternate registration PINS for special groups – Script used to assign special ranges for special groups Alternate Procedure Continued
