Opening title sequence analysis

Mise-en-scene Setting From the beginning of the opening title sequence we know its set in a urban city. We know this because it starts with a establishing shot/aerial shot of where the film set. Urban cities are typical locations of thriller films because their ordinary places.

Props In the O.T.S there are three main props. The bag creates mystery, suspense and interest. The audience is thinking what ever is in the bag, has to be bad and part of the narrative. Just like in Se7en when Jon Doe has the head of one of the detectives in a concealed box. The gloves imply what ever is in the bag is bad, the fact the character doesn't want his fingerprints on it. The car is the third main prop. From the opening title sequence and title of the film we can tell cars play a huge role in the film. Also they imply their might be some car chasers suggesting at a action thriller.

Cinematography Establishing shot is used to set the scene. It helps the audience recognise and learn where the movie is filmed. This Low angle shot is used to show the characters dominance and power. It makes them appear bigger, implying status.

This helps the audience understand its importance.
