SHAYPS The Healthy Living Centre was set up in 2004 with the aim: “to improve the Sexual Health of young people living within the Swansea, Neath / Port Talbot and Bridgend areas”

GEOGRAPHY Each area works to the aims of SHAYPs and also within the Sexual Health Strategy of each NPHT. Each area has championed innovative and effective approaches to sexual health promotion with young people.

OVERALL ACHIEVEMENTS Over 9000 young people reached in targeted interventions. Over 1800 training opportunities in best practice and health promotion approaches for professionals working with young people.

SHAYPS Unfortunately, the Healthy Living Centre funding was only available until 2007, and despite efforts to prolong its life, we haven’t been awarded extra funding, and the project is closing at the end of the month.

ACTIVITY As a participative project, we don’t believe in sitting still for too long! So now we’re going to wake you up and show you a snapshot of the type of work we do with young people….
