THE VALUE OF MEMBERSHIP SCTE•ISBE is dedicated to keeping cable and telecommunications professionals up-to-date in an ever-changing technology landscape. Through a robust ecosystem of people, partners, programs and resources, SCTE•ISBE works collectively to understand the impacts of new technology trends. SCTE•ISBE membership allows individuals to quickly share and gather knowledge and information. Preparing companies and individuals for what’s next.

OUR MISSION SCTE•ISBE is providing Essential Knowledge for Cable Professionals which is accelerating the deployment of technologies in the cable industry and ultimately impacting business results.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP TYPES Professional Membership -Open to any person who has an interest in the Society or who is employed full or part time in the engineering or technical operations, broadband communications or broadcasting systems. A professional membership is $85 a year.  Executive Membership - The individual must hold a position of director or higher and the dues for this membership level are $150 a year.  Executive membership includes all of the benefits of professional membership in addition quarterly executive webinars and access to executive benefits and invitations to VIP events.

Professional MEMBER Benefits LiveLearningTM Webinars – Interactive monthly webinars on technical issues you deal with daily. All of these are archived and can be viewed at your convenience. Certification Programs – Discounts on industry recognized certifications covering a broad range of subject areas and varying levels of expertise. Technical Courses – Discounts on training programs covering a wide range of content that addresses the needs from field operators and advanced technical professionals to operations and technology executives.

Professional MEMBER Benefits SCTE•ISBE Chapters – Discounted admission to local networking, technical training and thought-leader opportunities. SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo® – Discounted registration to the premier cable technology event. Access to technical workshops, hands-on technology, focused exhibits and key networking events. MicroLessons MICROLESSONS All of the short training that is available to the members. These include but are not limited to… Primers: Answering the question “What Is” in less than 2 minutes MicroLearnings: Short, focused that meet a specific learning outcome in approximately 2-5 minutes. LighteningMods: Overview of a course in 8-10 minutes

Professional MEMBER Benefits Member Connect – Connect with other members and share technical knowledge through the SCTE list, Supplier Connect, LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook. Technical Journals– Read SCTE•ISBE Technical Journals focusing on Network Operations, Energy Management, and Digital Video developed from key topics covered by the SCTE•ISBE Standards Program. SCTE•ISBE List SCTE•ISBE List is an electronic forum open to SCTE•ISBE members that enables technology professionals in the cable telecommunications community to discuss issues, exchange knowledge, share ideas and problem solve. The brand-new online community launched in early 2019 and will provide new communities in the future.

Mt. Rainier Chapter Vendor Day SCTE•ISBE CHAPTERS Chapters provide local networking and leadership opportunities members in nearly 70 locations across the globe. Technical Education – Chapters offer more than 300 technical training sessions per year, increasing workforce capabilities while minimizing impact on production time. Vendor Days - Each year, chapters combined host approximately 50 Vendor Days. Vendor Days are an opportunity for individuals to learn about current and upcoming technologies and compete in the local Cable-Tec Games. Mt. Rainier Chapter Vendor Day

LOCAL TECHNICAL TRAINING Each local SCTE•ISBE chapter is required to provide a minimum of 30 hours of technical training per year. Chapters provide technical training on a variety of topics, including but not limited to: Drop Installation Fundamentals Signal Leakage SCTE Certification Exam Preparation Internet Protocol DOCSIS® 3.1 Fiber Management Broadband Distribution Network Plant Maintenance and Standby Power MoCA Return Path South Jersey Chapter Technical Training Great Lakes Chapter Technical Training

CABLE-TEC GAMES Local Cable-Tec Games, typically held during chapter vendor shows or regional cable shows, provide an arena for contestants to compete in events that measure their technical abilities, such as cable splicing and meter reading, and demonstrate their knowledge, such as cable jeopardy. Each year, first-place winners of the local competitions are recognized for their achievements as they gather to compete on an international level during SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo®.

RECOGNITION AND LEADERSHIP SCTE•ISBE recognizes and honors excellence in the industry through annual awards programs that showcase the accomplishments and contributions of SCTE•ISBE members. SCTE•ISBE’s Net Promoter Score According to the 2017 SCTE·ISBE Scorecard Study, a Net Promoter Score survey prepared by Rockbridge: Seven in 10 SCTE•ISBE Members considered the Society their preferred organization if they are members of more than one organization. SCTE•ISBE members awarded the Society an overall rating of Excellent. The Society’s training programs scored an Excellent rating from program participants. SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec ExpoTM achieved a score of Excellent from Society members who attended.
