COLORS ALWAYS COME AFTER THE NOUN!

Making it agree…. In Spanish, every noun has a gender. This does NOT mean that everything is either a boy or a girl! All adjectives must agree with the noun they are describing in both number and gender.

If the color ends in a consonant… Look at the noun it is describing. If the noun is singular (only one object) Leave the ending alone. If the noun is plural (more than one object) Add –es

If the color ends in an “E”… Look at the noun it is describing. If the noun is singular (only one object) Leave the ending alone. If the noun is plural (more than one object) Add –s

If the color ends in an “O”… First look at the gender of the noun. Ex – la casa (feminine) Then decide whether it is singular or plural. (singular) Add the ending that matches both the gender and the number.

A O OS AS Endings… Singular and Masculine Singular and Feminine Plural and Masculine Plural and Feminine A O OS AS
