 Science Objective  We observe and describe the properties of matter.
Matter Solids, Liquids, and Gases START. Matter is anything that takes up space. Everything on earth is matter. Matter exists in three states: Solids.

Air is There Part 1

Daily Objective Air is something real and is called matter. Air takes up space. Air interacts with objects.

Vocabulary Air – an invisible mixture of gases Gas – a kind of matter that can be compressed, such as air Invisible – something that you cannot see Matter – something that has mass and takes up space

Introduction Today we are going to investigate objects in this bag. Lets see what's in here. We have a straw, a feather, a styrofoam ball, a cotton ball, and a balloon. Is there anything else in the bag? Air

Observations and Discussions Can you move things from place to place? Can you feel air? If you fill the plastic bag with air can the bag be smashed? What is air?

Vocabulary Review Air – an invisible mixture of gases Gas – a kind of matter that can be compressed, such as air Invisible – something that you cannot see Matter – something that has mass and takes up space

What We Learned move Air can __________ things around. You can __________ air. Air takes up __________. Air is __________. feel space matter
