What is a verb? Verbs are words that name actions. Ex. laugh, ski, camp, drive

When do verbs use different forms? Verbs use different forms depending on WHO is doing the action and WHEN the action takes place. Ex. I write, she wrote, we will write These are examples of different CONJUGATIONS of the verb “to write”

What is the most basic form of the verb called? The infinitive

What does the infinitive look like in English? In English, the infinitive usually has the word “to” in front of it. Ex. To eat, to laugh, to like

What does the infinitive look like in Spanish? In Spanish the infinitive always ends in –ar, -er, or –ir. Ex. Nadar, leer, and escribir

How do you say “to” in Spanish as in “to dance”? You don’t say “to”!! You just say “Bailar” Other examples…Hablar=to talk, correr=to run, escribir=to write
