Conjugation is a beautiful thing. We change the verb slightly in order to say who is doing that action.
Did you know that we conjugate in English?

3. Conjugating in English
Yes, we do conjugate in English! Think about the verb “to be.” You don’t say you to be, they to be, we to be. You conjugate the verb to make it active. The following is how we conjugate the infinitive verb "to be."
I am
You are
He/She is
We are
They are

4. To Run in Spanish is Correr
What’s an infinitive?
An infinitive is an inactive verb. An infinitive in Spanish is a verb that ends in -ar - er or -ir. All non-conjugated verbs are infinitives. It basically means that no one is doing that action.
For example: “To run” is an English infinitive. No one is doing that action, but it is still a verb.
To Run in Spanish is Correr
The -er -ar or -ir ending says to the reader/listener/speaker “to [action]”.

5. Verb Parts
Before we continue, let’s look at a quick review of the parts of a verb.
The stem of the verb. Regular verbs have no change in spelling when conjugated. Stem-changers and irregular verbs will have changes in the stem.
Bailar
The verb ending is always two letters: ar, er, or ir. This is what you cut off to conjugate.

There are three types of infinitive verbs in Spanish:
-Ar
-Er
-Ir
These regular infinitives are all conjugated in the same pattern.

7. So how does conjugation work?
Step 1: figure out who is doing the action.
Step 2: See what ending the word has (-ar, -er, -ir)
Step 3: Cut off the -ar, -er, -ir ending
Step 4: Add the appropriate ending for the pronoun
The stem of the word (the part before the -ar, -er, -ir ending) stays the same in a regular infinitive verb.

8. ellos/ellas/ustedes -an
-Ar
Let’s start with -ar verb. -AR is the most popular verb ending. Any regular -ar verb will conjugate to:
yo -o
tú -as
él/ella/usted -a
nosotros -amos
ellos/ellas/ustedes -an

9. Let’s try it with a verb Bailar is a regular -ar verb.
Yo bailo I dance
Tú bailas You dance
Él/Ella/Usted baila He/She/Formal you dances
Nosotros bailamos We dance
Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes bailan They/Formal plural you dance
(Notice how the stem, “bail” stays the same, the ending is the only thing that changes)

10. Try it out Conjugate the following regular -AR verbs in the presente:
I sing (cantar)
They swim (nadar)
We work (trabajar)
You skate (patinar)
She draws (dibujar)

11. ellos/ellas/ustedes -en
-Er
-Er is the second most popular verb ending. -Er regular verbs will conjugate as follows:
yo -o
tú -es
él/ella/usted -e
nosotros -emos
ellos/ellas/ustedes -en

12. Let’s try it with a verb Correr is a regular -er verb. Yo corro I run
Tú corres You run
Él/Ella/Usted corre He/She/Formal You runs
Nosotros corremos We run
Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes corren They/Formal Plural You run
(Notice how the stem, “corr” stays the same, the only thing that changes is the ending)

13. Try it out Conjugate the following regular -ER verbs in the presente:
I read (leer)
You all should (deber)
He runs (correr)
You (formal) understand (comprender)
We learn (aprender)

14. -Ir
-ir and -er are almost identical, so if you learn -er, you will have an easy time with -ir regular verbs.
-ir regular verbs will conjugate as follows:
yo -o
tú -es
él/ella/usted -e
nosotros -imos
ellos/ellas/ustedes -en
(the only conjugation that is different from -er verbs is nosotros)

Tú discutes You discuss
Él/Ella/Usted discute He/She/Formal You discusses
Nosotros discutimos We discuss
