Continued 3rd Person Subjective/Limited 3rd Person Objective The narrator has thoughts, feelings and bias that can effect the story (often has limited knowledge) 3rd Person Objective Narrator tells the story without interjecting emotion, thoughts, feelings, or bias 3rd Person Omniscient The narrator is not a character and simply tells the story and the character’s thoughts (complete knowledge)
Narrative Structures Linear Nonlinear Story follows a single trajectory from beginning to end without interruption Nonlinear Story told out of sequence, often with flashbacks, flash-forwards, random interjections, or medias res
