Passive- Unwilling or unable to express thought and feelings in a direct or firm manner Putting others needs ahead of your own, dislike conflict, try to avoid it at all cost Assertive- Expressing your views clearly and respectfully Standing up for your rights, and respecting those of others Improve your relationship with others Communication Styles
Ways To Communicate Speaking Skills Good communication is to say what you mean People hurt your feelings People can’t read your mind, or pick up on subtle hints Be as clear as you can be, but don’t be DISRESPECTFUL Ways To Communicate
I Messages- a statement that focuses on your feelings rather than on someone else’s behavior Helps communicate feelings in a positive way Example- “I really don’t like to be left waiting, it makes me feel like you don’t think I’m important”
