Writing Focus: Questions Transparency LA16: Questions Writing questions: The sentences ask for information. They often begin with words like who, what, when, where, why, and how. They begin with a capital letter and end with a question mark.

Step by Step Writing View photo card 108 of a plant. What would you like to know about this plant? What word begins your question? How do I write it? What is the rest of the question? What mark do you put at the end to make it a question? Now, let’s read it together. What is another questions about the plant? Let’s write it.

Writing Prompts: Write three questions you would like to ask your favorite book character. Draw a picture of your family member, and write a question that you would like to ask him or her.
