Hot Drinks

Hot drinks offer us refreshment, their richness of taste and varieties of flavors have contributed to the reasons why these beverages are universally enjoyed by people of all ages, gender or class.

Types of hot drinks Coffee Tea Hot chocolate Flavored milks

Coffee There are three types of coffee beans varieties: Coffee arabica Coffee robusta The blended types The Arabica bean is generally considered to be the best. The less valued seed of the Robust variety gives a lighter, thinner drink, which is said to have a rather wooden taste.

Roasting Good quality coffee is due also to the right blend of different qualities of beans and to the roasting. Correct roasting should give a uniform color. The most common levels are; Light: suitable for the mild beans to retain their delicate aroma. Medium: gives a stronger flavor, often used for coffees with a well defined character. Full (Dark): in common use in many Latin countries, slightly bitter flavor.

The most popular types of coffee Espresso Macchiato Caffé Latte Cappuccino

The most popular types of coffee Espresso: This is a finely ground very dark roast coffee with water "expressed" through it under pressure. A very strong dark coffee. Cappuccino: Espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam. Typically the milk is steamed through a special high pressure steam pipe on the espresso machine. Macchiato: Typically in North America, this is a cappuccino, but with the steamed milk component missing. That is, it is espresso and milk foam only. Latte: A "wet" cappuccino. Hold back the foam with a spoon, and pour the warm milk over the espresso. Put a little bit of foam on top for decoration only.

Drinking tea could help reduce the risk of heart attack.

Types of Tea The three major classes of teas: green black oolong These three types can be made from the same tea leaves, depending on how the leaf is processed.

Green tea Green tea is dried as soon as it is picked in order to minimize oxidation (which increases caffeine levels), to retain freshness. It helps to reduce the risk of heart disease and certain forms of cancer. The taste of green tea is often described as light and grassy.

Black tea Black tea known as red tea in China, its color is a result of complete oxidation, which gives it a flavor. Black tea usually has a strong, sweet taste.

Oolong tea Oolong tea: the most varied and most interesting, after the leaves are picked, they are gently rolled so that they slowly oxidize, which darkens them. Oolongs can range from the lovely aromas of orange blossom and sweet flavors to dark, nutty aromas and full flavors.

The most popular brands Assam: rich full tea, suitable for breakfast, served with milk. Earl Grey: China tea, flavored with oil of Bergamot. Served with lemon or milk. Jasmine: tea, which is dried with Jasmine Blossom. Kenya: consistent and refreshing tea, served with milk. Sri Lanka: Served with lemon or milk.
