Newspaper Overview Topic: World Series Each year, every Major League Baseball (MLB) team wants to win the World Series. Since 1903, the World Series has determined baseballs champion. The National League champion plays the American League champion in the World Series. A baseball stadium has a dugout for each of the teams players and coaches. ULS Overview Topic: People In Society MLB has rules that all of its teams, coaches and players must follow. The 30 MLB teams come from cities across the United States, and one city in Canada. In America, we have freedom to go to things we enjoy, like sporting events. Freedoms include responsibility. Earlier, the team with the most wins in each league was league champion. Fans and players wanted to know which champion was the best. The World Series gave them the answer.
