NOAH CALHOUNALLISON NELSON He came from a family with just him and his father. He worked hard for little money. He is outgoing and fell in love with a wealthy girl. Allison came from a very wealthy family that expected a lot from her. She lived a very fulfilling life, but her parents were opinionated. forums.myspace.com oxygen.com

MOMLOS HAMILTON Expected way to much out of Allie and didnt respect that she was in love. She married her husband because of money while she fell in love with someone exactly like noah. After Allies parents mad her move, she met this man and he proposed to her. They almost got married. Allies parents loved him. starpulse.com

Noah is the protagonist because the entire book revolves around him. He is the good guy in the book. He fell in love with Allie when he was young. She moved away and he went to war. He lost his friend in war. When he returned, he built his dream home and a drunken man.

Anne Nelson is the antagonist. She is the one that causes all of the problems in the book. She does not want her daughter to be with Noah. She forces her daughter to move away and almost convinces her to marry the wrong man. She hides all of Noahs letters that he wrote her every single day and never gave her them until the day that she realizes that she is still in love with Noah.

The rising action begins in 1946 one year after Noah Calhoun has returned to his hometown to build the house of his dreams and still has not seen Allie.

The exposition of this book is mainly about a love story between two people that had to come over so many difficulties. They had many things challenge their relationship.

The climax of the story is when Allie comes back to visit Noah. They act as if they never were without each other. They are back in love, head over heals. Everything is going good, and turn out the way that everyone hopes.

She has to break then news for her love for Noah to Lon and her parents. Lon takes it a lot better than I expected and wanted her to be happy. Her mother is finally honest with her and starts to support he decision.

The resolution of this book is that Noah and Allie are together. They are old and he is reading her the diary/book that he wrote about their entire life. She finally starts to remember, but in the end of the book, they die in each others arms.

New Bern, North Carolina, 1932, 1946, and the present day at Creekside Extended Care Facility

The main and most important theme of this book is Love Conquers All. Throughout the entire book, Allie and Noah were faced with so many difficulties that they had to overcome. It was amazing that even after everything that they went through, their love only grew stronger and stronger for each other. They end up being together for the rest of their lives.

I give this book an 9 out of 10 because I rarely can read a book cover to cover, but I read all of this one. I enjoyed reading it. It was inspiring how Noah and Allie overcame all of the problems through it all and became together. It was also really creative since he was reading her the book that he wrote about their lives to her, trying to make her remember their past.

I chose alcohol abuse. In the book there is a time where Noah experiences alcohol abuse. He constantly is drinking alcohol during a time period. He later overcomes his drinking habits when Allie comes back. Alcohol abuse is one the largest bad habits in our world today.

Ethyl Alcohol Ethanol dspinalcord.org/blo g/wp- content/uploads/2 009/10/alcohol.jpg Over one hundred types of alcohol. Ethanol is a Molecule that consists of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen atoms.

Annually, more than 100,000 deaths in the U.S. alone are caused by excessive alcohol consumption. Nearly half of all fatal car crashes are alcohol-related. The average person age 14 and older drinks 2.18 gallons of alcohol a year. (Obviously some drink less or none at all, and others drink much more). The more education a person has, the more likely they are to drink. The wealthier a person is, the more likely they are to drink. The country of Luxemburg has the highest per capita consumption of alcohol, followed by Hungary, Ireland, the Czech Republic, and Germany. The U.S. comes in 26th on the list. Every day an average of 11,318 teens try alcohol for the first time. Alcoholism costs the U.S. between 40 and 60 billion dollars per year.

Scar tissue blocks blood and bile flow through the liver and keeps it from working properly. Alcohol Fetal Syndrome smaller heads deformed facial features abnormal joints and limbs poor coordination problems with learning short memories Gain in weight

The World Health Organization estimates that about 76 million people throughout the world suffer from alcohol-related disorders. Fifty percent of U.S. homicides are alcohol related. More than 100,000 U.S. deaths are caused by excessive alcohol consumption each year. Direct and indirect causes of death include drunk driving, cirrhosis of the liver, falls, cancer, and stroke. It is estimated that more than 3 million teenagers in the U.S. between the ages of 14 to 17 are problem drinkers

As much as 50 percent of police work is spent addressing alcohol-related problems in our nation. This would mean that the annual cost to law enforcement agencies is at least $7.5 billion dollars. There are thousands of rehab centers across the nation that will help you overcome your alcohol abuse. People donate their time to teach and inform kids everyday about the abuse of alcohol.
