Purpose To inform TSM’s of contracting opportunities with the federal government.

The Office of Government Contracting works to maximize participation by small, disadvantaged, woman-owned, Veteran- owned, or Service-Disabled Veteran-owned small businesses in federal government contract awards.

1999 Veterans Entrepreneurship & Small Business Act 1999 Veterans Entrepreneurship & Small Business Act. “Rule of Two” - At least 2 veteran businesses will bid on a contract. - Award can be made at a fair and reasonable price

Before award of a contract, the veteran owned company must be registered in the Systems for Award Management at https://www.sam.gov/portal/SAM/#1.

Executive Order 13360 - Federal procurement officials and prime contractors provide the maximum opportunity to award contracts to Veterans.

Goals Formal goals are in place to ensure that small businesses get their fair share of work with the federal government.
