The Adventures of Science

Building an Awesome Experiment Problem Statement- a question that has measurable results Prediction (Hypothesis)- what you think will happen (an educated guess)

Building an Awesome Experiment Materials- list of items and equipment which includes quantities needed.

Building an Awesome Experiment Experimental Design- set of steps that you follow to test You must consider… Variable- factor that can affect the results of the experiment Control- things that do NOT change

Building an Awesome Experiment Observation- this is what you see, hear, feel taste and smell before, during and after the experiment. This is also called “Evidence”

What is an Experiment? Experiment- a test that gives you evidence that YOU CAN SEE to answer a question.

Building an Awesome Experiment Results (aka. Gathering Data)- the answer to your problem statement Trials-Must be repeated Prove Data Recording Data is Charted Analyzing is Graphed

Building an Awesome Experiment Conclusion- explanations that are based on evidence from observations and results. Inference- an explanation of information that is based on facts that were not seen.
