Technology and a thorough understanding of its use is imperative for success in the current and future job market. There are countless applications that can be utilized toward individualized learning and interests.

Student Responsibilities I will treat the iPad with care by not dropping it, getting it wet, leaving it outdoors, or using it with food or drink nearby. I will not lend the iPad to anyone, not even my friends or siblings. The iPad will stay in my possession at all times. I will follow the St. Charles Acceptable Use Policy. I will not attempt to load or remove any apps onto the iPad.

Student Responsibilities I will not give personal information when using the iPad. I will bring the iPad fully-charged to school everyday. I will only clean the iPad with a soft cloth, no liquid. I will use internet resources for educational purposes only.

Student Responsibilities I will keep all accounts and passwords assigned to me secure, and will not share these with any other students. I will not attempt to repair the iPad. I will return the iPad at the end of the year or upon withdrawal from St. Charles Borromeo School. I will keep the iPad in the case at all times.

Consequences Not having assigned iPad at school: 1st offense- Warning issued 2nd offense- Minor infraction 3rd offense- Major infraction, teacher contacts parent(s) to create proactive plan 4th offense- Major infraction, Saturday School -Each time parent will be called to deliver iPad and student will use paper and pencil or alternative until it arrives -If assignment must be completed with iPad, points will be deducted from assignment each day until complete.

Consequences iPad low or no charge: Student will inform teacher immediately of charge below 30% Use iPad until charge has fully been depleted or save power until needed for specific classes/assignments Use paper and pencil or alternative assignment for the day if battery runs out. If iPad usage is required for assignment, points will be deducted from the specific assignment.

Parent Responsibilities I will supervise my child's use of the iPad at home. I will discuss our family's values and expectations regarding the use of the Internet at home. I will supervise my child's use of the Internet. I will not attempt to repair the iPad, nor will I attempt to clean it with anything other than a soft, dry cloth. I will report to the school any problems with the iPad.

Parent Responsibilities I will not attempt to load or delete any software from the iPad. I will make sure my child recharges the iPad battery nightly. I will make sure my child brings the iPad to school every day. I understand that if my child comes to school without the iPad, I may be called to bring it to school. I agree to make sure that the iPad is returned to school when requested and upon my child's withdrawal from St. Charles.

You are in charge at home. Make a plan for how you will manage the technology at home. Some ideas include: Creating a scheduled time for working on the device. Designating a place in your home for working online. Designating a place to charge the device over night so that you remember it in the morning.

Internet Access at Home Students do not have access to the internet from your home unless you provide it for them. Public internet access is available at certain locations across town (Public libraries, etc.) Internet will continue to be filtered at home or other locations by the St. Charles filter.

Internet Access at Home We realize many of your students have access to the Internet from their phones or at home, and you are already working with them to be safe online. We want to continue to partner with you to teach your child to use the Internet responsibly and efficiently.

The App Store, iTunes & Apple ID Students will not be able to download apps and iTunes content onto the iPad. Students may not use an existing Apple ID (login and password) that they have created previously.
