2 What are some of the main digital threats you can face online?
A discussion follows, where the teacher discusses the digital threats someone can face online: Phishing: Tricking/manipulating the victim to disclose financial information. Hacking: Unwanted loss of accounts or private information. Ransomware: Software which locks your information before ransoming back access. 4 Video Reflection What are your concerns about the incident in the video? What might happen in the future? What are the legal impacts? What can the student's parents do? What could the student have done differently? Is there anything else the student could do to resolve the issue? Discussion among students. 5 Sharing online What content do you share online and how public is it?

7 How can I increase my safety online?
Set your tweets to private. Only follow and accept people you know in real life. Set it to Private Only follow and accept people you know and trust. Set Snap map to ghost mode or friends only. Only add and accept people you know. Set it to private. Only accept request from direct friends. Set up timeline review and limit who can search for you and how. Set strong passwords and don’t give them out. Use a firewall. Be selective with who you add or allow follow you. Don’t post out any personal information. Remember that not everyone online is who they say they are. Keep your apps up to date, and be aware of what changes happen in a update to your security and privacy. The teacher shows the slide and explain the steps. At the end, they should point out that sometimes the mobile apps access someone’s location and other information when they are not using the app. Remember! 9 Tips for digital privacy
Most social networks are set to public by default. Remember people can see your profile, what you say and to who. Regularly check your settings Only follow and accept requests from people you know. Delete or deactivate old social media accounts you don’t use. Before you share, tweet or post, think: Do I want everyone to see this? If a photo is not of you, do I have permission to post this? But what if I don’t want to block the person.. Use ‘Restrict’ instead to limit how public other peoples’ comments are. Stop and reflect feature The teacher shows the steps displayed on the slide on how a student can delete offensive comments on Instagram without blocking the other user. 12 Help-seeking How would you talk to an adult in case of private images and password sharing? Activity 3 in the activity sheet. After the completion of the activity sheet, the groups discuss their ideas. At this point, the teacher should mention that private images are not just sexual but images that are personal to them or friends that are not for anyone else. At the end, the teacher should discuss with their students if they think that they are able to talk to an adult at home about these issues. FUSE | ANTI-BULLYING AND ONLINE SAFETY PROGRAMME

13 Secure Your Mobile Devices
Set a passcode and configure it to automatically lock after a certain period of time. Keep it private. Always logout of your or social media accounts especially if it is on a shared device. When it comes to photos, DON’T keep ANY pictures on your phone that you wouldn’t want others to see. When you download or install an app, make sure you know what it is and the information it collects! The teacher should mention that everyone should treat their password like their toothbrush, they should not let anybody else use it and they should change it regularly.
