Lecture: The Workers Plight Standard 11.2.1 Know the effects of industrialization on living and working conditions, including the portrayal of working conditions and food safety in Upton Sinclair's the Jungle.

Problem #1: Unfair Working Conditions Low wages Long hours (10-14 hours a day) No unemployment, no health care benefits Government does not help because of Laissez Faire
