AEROSPACE CONTROL and GUIDANCE Initiatives Meeting Content Annual 1-day short course Competitive award lecture for young engineers Meeting locations to facilitate relevant tours when possible Continued dissemination of semi-annual meetings info within AESS/on-going Panel interaction Meeting Content Invited talks across gov’t, industry, universities Recent aerospace activity on Panel Topics of interest Panel Topics Aircraft and surface vehicles Missiles and Space Avionics and Systems Dynamics and Analysis Flight, Propulsion, Autonomous Control Last Meeting 3/3-6/15 in Portland, OR Upcoming Meetings 10/13-16/15 in Charlotte, NC 3/15-18/16 in Napa, CA Primary focus is to provide a forum for discussion, development and rapid dissemination of technical information relevant to aerospace control and guidance systems technologies including adaptive control concepts; advanced vehicle concepts and related guidance, control, and dynamics issues, NextGen air traffic control; integration of UAS in the National Air Space; autonomy; and others. Strategic initiatives include conducting a single day short course on a related guidance and control topic. Introduced a lecture series aimed at attracting young university and/or industry researcher participation in the committee. Research Institutions, Industry, University, Government Agencies Dynamics, Computations, and Analysis Flight, Propulsion, and Autonomous Vehicle Control Systems - Aeronautic and Surface Vehicles - Missiles and Space - Avionics and System Integration

Initiatives Updates Held 1-day short course on March 3, 2015 Topic: Model-Based Design Expect next short course in March 2016 Most recent competitive lecture award for young professionals (YPs) made in October 2014 to Dr, Riccardo Bevilacqua from University of Florida Nominations are open for the October 2015 award, with winner to be selected in late September October 2014 meeting included tour of NASA Glenn Research Center ACGSC Honored with the 2014 Outstanding AESS Panel Award

Upcoming Meeting Plans Charlotte, NC on October 13-16, 2015 Will have 3 days of committee short and full briefings within the indicated panel topic areas The agenda is now being finalized Will include next YP lecture competition winner The meeting announcement with a preliminary agenda has gone out and is on the ACGSC web site NAPA, CA on March 15-18, 2016 Will have 3 days of committee short and full briefings Plan to have 1-day short course
