Hungry, Hungry Hippos Unit Volleyball This unit will include practicing the techniques of serving, bumping, passing, attacking, and defense in volleyball lead-up games and team activities. This will be to challenge each grade level in a different way to allow them to benefit the most from the unit. This unit will include using various skills and techniques used to play a life-sized game of hungry hippos! Two students will help move the students to and from the “food” (assorted equipment) to then transfer the food back to their home (hula hoop). Valentines Day is coming very close and February is already here! We still need to please make sure all of our students bring a change of gym shoes for gym so they can participate and avoid injury! Safety is our main priority. The students will continue to participate in sports that are geared for indoors such as gymnastics/tumbling, jump rope, and volleyball. Heart Heroes (American Heart Association) fundraising will end the week of February 28th as well! Last year was very successful and we raised $5,542! We already have over $1,600 and can keep raising more to reach our school goal over the final weeks. I hope we can continue the trends and support this amazing cause and our students! Let’s keep up all the great work and motivation our students have started the year off with to keep moving towards spring! ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT The athlete of the month for February is the New England Patriots! New England Patriots. The Patriots have won the super bowl over the Los Angeles Rams 13-3! Both teams did an outstanding job to reach the super bowl! Tom Brady has now won 6 super bowls in his career continuing outstanding records and career statistics.
