Timeline of events to occur: Deadline for notifying District IV Committee and PIAA is October 1, 2017. Petition Tri-Valley League (TVL) as soon as possible (Goal, July 2017) Both the TVL and Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference (PHAC) football ball schedules are completed for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. For the 2018 and 2019 seasons, we could petition the TVL to allow MW to play those 2 seasons in the TVL, taking on the EJ schedule that would have already been created. We would be able to enter the PHAC for football in the 2020 season.

Notes: Practice location – Practice at the WSE field or create a field on the Middleburg campus. At WSE, we would still have transportation costs and additional trainer fees around $17,000. If we created a practice field on the high school campus area, we would save on transportation and the additional trainer fees would be about $3000. The $3,000 figure was used for the calculations on program costs. New goal posts were priced and included in the equipment cost for a practice field at MWHS.

Title IX expects athletics programs to treat its male and female student-athletes equally with regard to the following areas: a. The provision of equipment and supplies; b. Scheduling of games and practice time; c. Travel and per diem allowance; d. Opportunity to receive coaching and academic tutoring; e. Assignment and compensation of coaches and tutors; f. Provision of locker rooms, practice and competitive facilities; g. Provision of medical and training facilities and services; h. Provision of housing and dining facilities and services; i. Publicity. Equity means that there is equality when assessing how men as compared to women are treated in the aggregate in these areas. For example, men and women that play the same sport would not necessarily receive the same benefits but that an equitable number of men and women are treated alike. Also, because sports differ, they require different gear, medical attention, numbers of coaches, among other things. Accordingly, student-athletes should be treated equally given the unique features of their sports. No matter the source of the funds used to support student athlete financial aid and treatment (e.g., fund-raised, donated, contractually-secured).
