Simplify, Reflect, Absorb, Review Students will take time away from their modern life for the period of their excursion to the natural world and the company of their classmates

Simple Living – Bare essentials Basic accommodation – leaving the modern world behind A bed and a sleeping bag Sounds of the forest and the water A cool breeze off the lake Electricity for a few hours a day No phone signal, no Wi-Fi, no social media Surrounded by the jungle and lake, nature on your doorstep.

What’s on the menu? Take a break from the instant food we have available everyday. Wilderness living demands simple, sustainable food, taking advantage of the food supplies available locally. Expect to see fish on the menu! Vegan, Vegetarian and non-pork diets and common allergies will all be catered for. All main meals will offer a limited choice of healthy, balanced courses.

Transportation Buses will take students to Khao Sok from school. From their, students will take a long tail boat on the lake to their accommodation. When using transport on land students must wear seat belts and on the lake students must wear life jackets.

Camping Themes Year 8 - Service The experience is for students to experience a non-urban, more sustainable lifestyle closer to nature with more person to person communication. The lack of internet is to support students having a greater understanding of and empathy for rural communities supported by the activities they participate in.

Service Activities Year 8 - Activities Students will participate in the following: Khlong Ka Jungle Trail Lake Swim and Diamond Cave Exploration Phum Duang River Kayak Journey Phum Duang River measurement and water survey Early morning animal safari by boat

Camping Themes Year 9 – Team Building and Adventure Activity Year 9 will participate in team building and adventure activities such as: Cardboard box Boat Race Hiking Namtaloo Cave Kayaking Boat Safari Inter-House sports competition

Accommodation Year 8 Year 8 students will be based on land for their accommodation. Year 9 Year 9 students will be staying on bungalows on the lake at the Krai Son National Park raft house. Students will be arranged into appropriate sleeping groups for the duration of their trip

Safety First All activities are risk assessed, tried and tested Expert National Park accredited guides with superior local knowledge lead the walks, kayak and cave activities in partnership with the expert supervisory staff All water activities are done wearing buoyancy aids and cave activities with helmets and torches provided. Advice is always taken on walking conditions, weather and animal activity. Amendments are made if there are any safety concerns All staff are trained in first aid and a first aid kit is always carried All staff are experienced in carrying out the activities with International school groups and will lead groups safely and in accordance to risk assessment. Adequate amounts of drinking water is carried and there are regular stops for drink breaks The company carries Muang Thai Special Accident Insurance for Tour operators and Guides
