Common Core Standards: RI.9-10.8, SL.9-10.4 Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 Aim: How can we establish classroom rules, procedures and goals for success this spring semester? Objective: Students will be able to establish classroom rules, procedures and goals for success. Do Now: Answer one of the following questions. 1.) What are some rules that your family has at home and why are they important? 2.) What do you believe are some rules/procedures in this classroom and why are they important? *Seat assignments will be given.

Common Core Standards: Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 Common Core Standards: RI.9-10.8, SL.9-10.4 Aim: How can we establish classroom rules, procedures and goals for success this spring semester? Objective: Students will be able to establish classroom rules, procedures and goals for success this spring semester. Agenda Do Now: Turn and talk with your tablemates. New captains will be chosen, and they will prepare to share with the class. Discuss/Share #1: Captains will share the Do Now answers from their tablemates. Mini-Lesson: Read the article “The Five Attributes of Successful Schools” (https://blogs.edweek.org/edweek/education_futures/2016/06/the_five_attributes_of_successful_schools.html). Does ITHS possess any of the five attributes (qualities) of a successful school? Explain your answer by referring to evidence from the article and evidence from your personal experience at ITHS. Discuss/Share #2: Volunteers will share their answers from the mini-lesson. Goals/Reflections: What goals do you have for the Spring Semester? Identify them in the goal sheet provided.
