The Big Picture The next assignment will be a media presentation. The other grade 11 teachers and I are developing that assignment for next week. Today we are going to learn/review target audiences.

Who is the audience? To know what target audience means. To understand the importance of identifying a text’s target audience. To be able to create audience profiles for media texts. Demographics, Psychographics, Product, Text Geo-Demographics, Socio-Economic Status

Why is knowing one’s audience important? To know what target audience is. To understand the importance of knowing one’s audience. Audience: People who listen, watch, read or use media texts are called the audience. Audiences are grouped together by gender, age, how much money they earn and what they like. Institutions work hard to make their media texts appeal to the right audience. Why is knowing one’s audience important?
