LAMAS Working Group 5-6 October 2016 Agenda Item 2.6 Gender pay gap SES 2014 benchmark Piotr.Ronkowski@ec.europa.eu

Introduction GPG2014 estimates to be benchmarked on SES2014 data Timeliness very important in the view of the European Equal Pay Day in November 2016 NSIs asked to transmit revised GPG2014 data for B-to-S-without-O by 15 September 2016 NSIs asked to transmit revised back series [2011- 2013] by 30 September 2016

GPG 2014 benchmarked on SES 2014 Eurostat estimated the EU GPG 2014 on the basis of country transmissions and its own calculations EU-GPG 2014 benchmarked on SES 2014: 16.7% EU-GPG 2014 transmitted to DG JUST on 26 September

The methodology for benchmarking GPG 2011-2013 data Besides benchmarking GPG2014 on SES20104, it is also necessary to adjust the years backwards The difference between GPG2014 annual data and the SES2014 benchmark should be incrementally distributed among the annual GPG2011, GPG2012 and GPG2013: - GPG2011 adjusted = GPG2011 annual + 1/4 * (GPG2014_SES - GPG2014 annual) - GPG2012 adjusted = GPG2012 annual + 2/4 * (GPG2014_SES - GPG2014 annual) - GPG2013 adjusted = GPG2013 annual + 3/4 * (GPG2014_SES - GPG2014 annual)

The methodology for benchmarking GPG 2011-2013 data

State of play in the benchmarking exercise No benchmarking exercise could be launched for Greece and Croatia Hungary informed that there is no need to benchmark its data Belgium, Denmark, France and Iceland asked Eurostat to benchmark their data As regards the other countries, Eurostat received the benchmarked data from all of them, except Estonia and Switzerland Eurostat intends to publish the revised GPG data by the middle of October

The Members of the LAMAS Working Group are invited: To take note of the state of play concerning the benchmarking of gender pay gap data
