In Pre-school this week we are learning:

In Nursery this week we are learning: 14/1/19 Our theme is Traditional Stories Our story of the week is The Three Billy Goats Gruff Monday Communication & language Uses simple sentences. Beginning to use more complex sentences to link thoughts (e.g. using and, because). Physical Development Travels around, under, over and through balancing and climbing equipment. Tuesday Expressive art and design Beginning to construct, stacking blocks vertically and horizontally, making enclosures and creating spaces. Joins construction pieces together to build and balance. Personal, Social & Emotional Development Begins to accept the needs of others and can take turns and share resources, sometimes with support from others Communication & language Describes main story settings, events and principal characters. Wednesday Understanding of the world Explores objects by linking together different approaches: shaking, hitting, looking, feeling, tasting, mouthing, pulling, turning and poking. Mathematics Selects a small number of objects from a group when asked. Friday Communication & language Responds to simple instructions, e.g. to get or put away an object. Expressive art and design Sings a few familiar songs. Thursday Physical Development Moves freely and with pleasure and confidence in a range of ways, such as slithering, shuffling, rolling, crawling, walking, running, jumping, skipping, sliding and hopping. How you can help: School starts at 8.50am and registers are sent to the office at 9am. If your child is late please go to the main school entrance and inform the office if your child requires a school lunch that day. Half term – we break up on Friday 15th February and return to school on Monday 25th February. On Wednesday 13th February we shall attend a Teddy bears picnic with Pre-school. Children are invited to bring along their favourite teddy bear from home to join them on the day.
