2. Welcome and Good News
Happy New Year!! Welcome to our 4th Joint Governing Body Meeting for the School Year. If you have not done so already, please sign the attendance sheet on the back table and get a free door raffle ticket.

3. LKCS &APAA Family Luncheon Day
Report Cards
Student Report Cards were distributed last week to LKCS and APAA students on Thursday, 1/24. If you did not receive your child’s report card, please contact the main office. We will be happy to provide you with another copy. Also, please feel free to contact the main office to schedule a parent/teacher conference to discuss any concerns you may have.
LKCS &APAA Family Luncheon Day
Friday, February 1st is our annual LKCS and APAA Family Luncheon. All LKCS and APAA family members are invited to come eat lunch with their children. KFC will be served that day. Please pre-order lunch on the menus sent home with your child(ren). If you need another copy please call or stop by the main office. Student lunch times are: LKCS: 11:15am-12:00pm. APAA: 12:00pm-12:45pm. If you have children in both LKCS & APAA, you will eat during LKCS lunch. We look forward to seeing you there! 3

4. Valentine’s Day Candy-Grams
Beginning Thursday, February 7th LKCS and APAA students, parents and friends may purchase Valentine’s Day Candy-Grams. Remember special words of encouragement and love will brighten your child’s day. Please contact the main office with your special Valentine’s Day message. We will deliver the candy-grams daily throughout Thursday, February 14th. Each candy-gram costs .50€. Happy Valentine’s Day!! 4

5. 8th Annual Jazz Night:
On Friday, February 15th the APAA will host our 8th Annual Jazz Night in the Campus Auditorium at 7:00pm. This year’s event includes Jazz, Rock n’ Roll, Rhythm & Blues and Gospel. Students will sample various types of songs within the genre including the following: Bring Me A Higher Love, Free Falling, Georgia, I Give Myself Away… plus more!
Tickets are $5.00 per person and children three years old and younger enter for free. Attendees will pay at the door.
We are preparing a very special night of music, so please spread the word and plan to attend. Our Music Department is working hard to make this a fabulous event! 5

6. Pre-Weekly Reports, Calendars & Communication
Parents please make sure you are checking your child’s bags and agendas for homework assignments, project details and pre-weekly reports. The main office also send home important materials, parent memos, notices regarding upcoming events, newsletters and monthly calendars. Certain items must be signed and returned, while others are meant to remain home.
Our teachers are required to contact parents and guardians via student agenda, telephone, written notice and s. However, if you have any questions or concerns and would like to set up a conference, please contact the main office. 6

7. REMINDER: After School Tutoring Schedule
The LKCS and APAA are very serious about addressing the critical needs of our students. The second semester of instruction is a very crucial part of a student’s school year. Parents and students are asked to take advantage of our FREE after school tutoring program.
Several teachers provide specialized tutoring during the week. Please check with your child’s teacher for assistance.
