Film Editing Log on to ClipChamp.com Sign up with your MS890 school account. Fill out username and password. If prompted to ask type of account, click “Education” Open a “New Project”

To add media from a memory card , click “Add media” Then Browse files. Click on the Memory card> DCIM > 100 media > and choose your files

To move a clip into your EDITING TIMELINE just drag it from your Library. To cut a piece of footage : Move to Timeline bar to the spot you want to cut the clip. Click the ”scissor” tool to split it into two clips. To undo something, click the bended arrow on the left.

To add Fade in/Out  to Footage:  Click on the clip Go to the Fade In/Out tab Make it longer by moving the button to the right Fade in: at the beginning of a clip Fade Out: At the end of a clip

To add  Transition to Footage: ​ Click on the Menu tab that says "Transition"  Select one of the transitions you like to use. ​ Drag  it between two clips. 

To add a Title: Click on the Title in the options menu. Choose the title you want and drag it into your editing Timeline. Click on the Title clip to edit. If you don’t want it on a clip of footage, move it in front of the the video clipIn the timeline.

To Playback: Move the Timeline Bar to the beginning of the EDITING TIMELINE. Click play (or the space button)

Sample Footage Files on the GoogleClassroom In the coming weeks, we are going to practice using the video editor or to create a short film. Everyone will be practicing editing skills. You will be working on one of these two pieces of footage:   Short Film Footage   Sample Footage Files on the GoogleClassroom  Two members of your group will create a final version of the footage you have filmed.   Film should be about 2-3 minutes.      If you are not editing your footage, practice editing skills with the sample footage (OF my DOG)   Film should be about 1-2 minutes   Try to use the FOUR types of cuts:   Standard cut  Cutaway  Fade In/Out   Jump Cut   How to download footage:   Insert memory card into slot on the laptop.   Go to Clipchamp.com and log in with your Google account.   Click “add new media”  Select ONLY the clips you need to put together your story. (The editor works better when there are not too many clips).    How to download footage:  Go to the GoogleClassrom for “Spark Film”  Click on “Editing clips”  Download clips onto the computer first.   Log on to Clipchamp.com  Create new project and give it a title.   Once in your project “Add New Media”   Delete any downloaded footage from the computer after placing in ClipChamp
