1 Audio editing assignment 1st check out this in fun audio editing music mashup: Go to Select “Category” from the left hand vertical menu Choose a category Listen to a few songs from your chosen category Choose a song to work with that is longer than 30 seconds Click the “Download MP3” button to the right of your song choice Save the song file into your folder Now go to the next slide for more instructions On the next slide (slide #2) go to the “Insert” tab and open the “Audio” tool and select “from my PC” Find your file that you previously saved and double click it to insert Follow the instructions for trimming a clip on slide #3 You need to trim your clip down to as near 20 seconds as possible. After you complete the instructions on slide #3, proceed to slide #4 and follow the instructions there for exporting your newly edited audio file back out to your folder.

2 My Audio Editing Go to the “Insert” tab and open the “Audio” tool and select “from my PC” Find your file that you previously saved and double click it to insert it into this slide Follow the instructions for trimming a clip on slide #3 You need to trim your clip down to as near 20 seconds as possible. After you complete the instructions on slide #3, proceed to slide #4 and follow the instructions there for exporting your newly edited audio file back out to your folder.

and click on Trim Audio in the Editing section Now go to the next slide to see how to Fade In and Fade Out your audio clip

4 Fading In and Fading Out an audio clip
Select your audio clip back on slide #2 Then go to the Playback tab again In the Fade In and Fade Out tool, fade in and fade out at least 02:00 which is 2 seconds. Now play and listen to your clip. If you don’t really notice the fade in and fade out, add more time to each Go to the next slide for instructions on how to save your clip as an audio file

5 Now to compress your audio file so your changes remain
Select your audio file again Now go to File, and choose Compress Media Select Low Quality which will bring up a pop window like this After the green bar fills all the way you can close the pop up window and click the back arrow Now go to the next slide for the final insructions on how to save your audio clip as an .mp3 or .m4a

6 Saving your audio clip into an .mp3 or .m4a file for later use
Now that you’ve compressed your audio clip, right click on your audio clip icon on slide #2 and select “Save Media as” from the pop up menu Choose your destination folder Name the file whatever you’d like, and save. You should now have two mp3 or .m4a files in your folder, the original full length file and the trimmed edited version. Raise your hand and show your two files to your teacher or if instructed your 20 second edited clip file as an attachment to Mr. Bradshaw at or bring it in on a thumb drive to show him.
