United Kingdom SDGs Reporting Platform This demonstration will explain some of the website features [There is no sound]

Here, we will give you an overview of what our website can give users. At the Office for National Statistics, we have the responsibility for reporting SDGs global indicators data for the UK. We have chosen to make use of an open source website tool created by the United States. We have added some developments, which can be shared with other countries. Here, we will give you an overview of what our website can give users. To start, users are presented with the Home page… Press any key to continue…

Press any key to continue… The Home page has three main features: The Home Page Menu options Search facility Goals Press any key to continue…

There are seven menu options… Press any key to continue… There are seven menu options… Goals Default menu - shows the Home Page Reporting Status Shows how many indicators have data About Information about our work with SDGs Publications Links to all our SDGs related publications Guidance Advice about using and replicating the site FAQ Common questions about the site Accessibility Allows users to switch between contrast levels for reading ease

The status of data for the indicators is shown in number and bar format This is also broken down for each Goal we have data for 4 indicators (29%) we are looking at data for 2 indicators (14%) we are exploring new data sources for 8 indicators (57%) Press any key to continue…

Press any key to continue… Indicator Search The Search facility allows users to look for the data they want using words from the global SDGs indicators titles For example, a search for the word “forest” finds three indicators in two Goals Press any key to continue…

17 Goals The home page shows the 17 Goals, which all act as buttons Users can choose to look at data for any Goal by clicking or pressing the relevant icon

Press any key to continue… Once the user has chosen a Goal, they will see all its indicators laid out in a grid Each indicator will show whether we have data, are working on data or are looking for data To see the statistics, the user just selects the appropriate indicator Press any key to continue…

Image reduced for demonstration purposes The indicator page has five areas of interest… Image reduced for demonstration purposes Additional information Any relevant information about the data for the indicator is shown here Chart or Table display Users can choose to display the data as a chart or as a table The data defaults to UK headline data, where applicable Data filtering options Users can choose any available disaggregations/sub-categories Some options are only available if others have been chosen already Download options Metadata and Sources Press any key to continue…

Press any key to continue… Looking more closely at how the Sub-categories options work… The chart shows headline data by default All available sub-categories are accessible on the left of the screen The user can open any of the drop-down lists to see the options available The data for whichever options are chosen will be displayed on the chart Sub-categories can be toggled off and on using the chart legend The ‘Clear all’ button switches off all the disaggregations in any sub-category

The data can be displayed as a table instead of a chart… The displayed data can be sorted by a selected sub-category by clicking the column heading Press any key to continue…

Press any key to continue… Users can choose to download the data. Either: a) the data used for the chart or table, or b) The entire source data Users can find information about the metadata and the source(s) of the data, too… If the user is a data provider, when they log on to the site, they will have the option to edit the metadata

The ‘Sources’ tab gives the user additional information not automatically displayed on the page and a link to the original source The ‘Metadata’ tab gives the user access to additional information not automatically displayed on the page Press any key to continue…
