From the library webpages, click on the OneSearch logo

OneSearch landing page – signing in All users with borrowing rights to Liverpool Hope libraries will automatically be able to view and manage their library account, as well as being able to save search results and searches for future use, but you must be signed in to do so Click on Sign in from the top toolbar of the OneSearch landing page For Liverpool Hope University staff and students select Hope Then sign in using your Hope username and password For visitors to Liverpool Hope University select Visitors Then sign in using your user ID and password

Results list Results include print and electronic books; online journal articles; kits and DVDs You must be signed in if you want to view the full text of articles and e-books Available Online NB this option is available to Hope University students and staff only

Ways to refine results from the results list Results may be refined in different ways, such as Resource type or Language In this case results have been refined by Publication date and to those Available online

Viewing results: books This book is available in both print and electronic format For information about the print copy click on the item title for the full record From the item full record you can see … If the book is available or on loan Where the book is located How long the book may borrowed

Viewing results: e-books To view an e-book click on the item title Then click on view full text Remember – you must be signed in if you want to view the full text online

Viewing results: articles To view the full text of an article select the article title Then select the link, or one of the links, under View Online Full text availability

Saving results to your personal favourites list Save results you want to keep to My Favourites by clicking on next to the item To access My Favourites click on the at the top right of the screen Remember – you must be signed in if you want to save to or access My Favourites

My Favourites list In My Favourites, items can be sorted by date added, or alphabetically by title or author Items can also be grouped together by selecting Add labels and entering a label title You can delete an item from My Favourites by selecting next to the item you wish to remove

Saving searches Searches can be saved for future use Before signing out go to My Favourites by clicking on the on the top right of the toolbar Then Search History Select any searches you wish to save by clicking on

Saved searches When you next sign into My Favourites go to Saved Searches or remove a search by clicking Run searches again by clicking on the search Set up an ‘alert’ sent to your university gmail when new results matching your search criteria become available. Click on next to the search

My library account To check your library account click on the dropdown arrow next to your name on the top toolbar, then select My Library Account From My Library Account you can check your loans and requests (reservations). You can also see if there are any fines or messages

In Loans you can … Renew all or some of your items – this is useful for any 24 or 48 hour loan items Remember 2 week and 7 day loan items will automatically renew for 14 weeks from the date of loan unless requested by another borrower To view your loan history click on the downward pointing arrow next to Active loans and then Previous and historic loans Clicking this downward pointing arrow expands information Including the Maximum renewal date - the final renewal date after which the item will need to be returned

In Requests you can … Cancel any requests that are no longer useful Selecting the downward pointing arrow will expand item information Including the Pick-up location and the date you requested the item

Other OneSearch features From the top toolbar you can select … New search – for the OneSearch landing page Find a journal – to search for a specific journal title Find a publication - to find a specific journal article, journal or book using citation information Newspapers – to limit your search to newspapers only
