Classification Category Section (one-digit category): 4 goods producing industry sections 17 service producing industry sections Division (two-digit category): similar production process, similar use, character 40 goods producing industry divisions 48 services producing industry divisions

Classification Category Group (3 -digit category): further breakdown of divisions following similar criteria 112 good producing groups 130 service producing groups

General Consideration in Classification Categories Classes – used to classify establishment into kind-of-economic activity Groupings into groups(3-digit), division(2-digit) is based on: Strategic importance importance and relationship to economy Character of goods and services produced Uses to which the goods and services Nature of production: input, process and technology of production
