Political Corruption in Industrial Revolution Many politicians chose to work with corrupt business men and corrupt gang leaders Received $$ for campaigns Got them the votes they needed  voter fraud Affected every level of government President  Congress  city gov’t

Political Machines Political Machines were organizations controlled by a “boss” who exchange votes for political favors and/or money. The most famous was Tammany Hall of NYC Controlled by the infamous Boss Tweed Corrupt but efficient Provided a political voice for immigrants (especially the Irish)
