Parents General Information Meeting May 1, 2013 – 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Glenview Jr. Titan Football Parent Meeting

About Glenview Jr. Titan Football The Glenview Jr. Titan Football organization is a not-for-profit organization created to provide opportunities for the youth of Glenview to learn and play the game of football in a fun, competitive, and safe environment.

Vision Statement Our vision is to produce the most successful, fun, safe, and competitive instructional youth tackle football program in the area. We are a competitive athletic program that encourages participation across a broad spectrum of ages and sizes. We teach the fundamentals of tackle football by a combination of lecture, demonstration, correction, and repetition. The coaching philosophy is based on individual and team instruction to maximize a player's skills in the successful performance of that players assignments.

Goals To create a program that teaches every player the fundamentals of tackle football. To develop the skills needed to compete successfully. To encourage and reward the players efforts to learn and improve these skills. To nurture a passion for the sport. To teach and reinforce the qualities of sportsmanship and team play. To create an atmosphere of respect for team, coaches, opponents, and officials.

Players Code of Conduct I will HONOR THE GAME of football by displaying good sportsmanship at all times on and off the field and by setting a positive example. I will respect my teammates, coaches, referees and opponents at all times, even if others do not. I understand that coaches and referees give their time for our benefit and should be respected. I will follow the rules of the game. I will support and encourage my teammates. I understand that football is a team game, and I will strive to be a "team player." I will be modest in victory and gracious in defeat. I will not use obscene language or gestures. I will demand a sports environment free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all times.

Players Code of Conduct, Cont. I will learn from my coaches; practice hard; play smart; and have fun! I will do my best to attend all practices and games and be on time and when I cannot, I will inform the coaches in advance. I will do my very best in school as schoolwork is my first priority.

Parents Code of Conduct I will HONOR THE GAME by practicing good sportsmanship at all times. I will not engage in unsportsmanlike behavior with coaches, officials, players or parent such as booing or taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane language or gestures. I will not coach my child. I will let players play and coaches coach, and will support both positively. I will emphasize the FUN of the game and the team, and putting forth effort at all times, not only wins and losses. I will never criticize or ridicule my child or any other players regardless of the circumstance.

Parents Code of Conduct, cont. I will ensure that my child attends all practices and games and will be on time. When my child cannot, I will inform the coaches in advance. I will be prompt in picking up my child after practice and games or I will verify that someone has responsibility for my child before leaving him. I will follow the "24 Hour Rule"; if I have a complaint resulting from a game (or practice) situation, I will speak with the coach on the following day. I will demand a sports environment free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all games.

Playing Time Playing time is not a given; it is earned first by hard work, positive attitude, and display of skills on the practice field. Coaches will do their best to give each player playing time. The coach will base playing time on what lineup/substitution scenario best offers the team a chance to be successful. Possible Reasons for a Reduction in Playing Time: Missing practice Attitude Having a me first attitude Lack of Hustle and/or Heart
