What is a Food Chain? A food chain shows the relationship between organisms in an ecosystems. Producers Herbivores Carnivores Decomposers

Producers Plants that get their food from the sun’s energy and act as a source of food for other organisms in an ecosystem.

Herbivores An animal that eats plants rather than other animals.

Carnivores An animal that eats meat.

Decomposers An organism, like bacteria, that breaks down dead plant or animal matter and releases their nutrients back into the soil.
